As we arrived at the small Native Village of Metlakatla just a few miles North of Prince Rupert the residents came to the Jetty to meet us. It is very important to Chris and the crew that the traditions of the people are honoured. With this in mind Chris calls to the Chief of the community from the Canoe and seeks permission to land. On occasions the crew have been able to learn a traditional song which is chanted as the Canoe enters the community.
